Sanjeev Kumar’s real name was Harihar Jethalal Jariwala. He was from Surat in Gujarat. He started his career by working with the Indian People’s Theater Association (IPTA) and then joined the Indian National Theatre.

Sanjeev Kumar played a small role in ‘Hum Hindustani’ released in 1960 and started his career. He got recognition from ‘Nishan’ which came in the year 1965. However, ‘Khilauna’ brought him popularity, which was released in the year 1970. Then Sanjeev Kumar never looked back and kept moving ahead winning the hearts of the audience. He worked with top heroines of that time like Hema Malini, Rakhi Gulzar and Moushumi Chatterjee.

Sanjeev Kumar died at the age of 47
According to media reports, Sanjeev Kumar had predicted his demise. He once joked that he would never grow old because, like other men in his family, he too could not live beyond the age of 50, and that is exactly what happened. Sanjeev Kumar died on November 6, 1985 due to a heart attack. He was 47 years old at that time. Many films of Sanjeev Kumar were released after his death.
