Ranveer Singh was trolled by telling the story of poverty of his family.

New Delhi. Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra is in discussion about one of her statements these days. He told that there was so much poverty in his house that father could not even buy cake on his birthday. Ranveer Singh also gave a similar statement about poverty a few years ago, after which social media users trolled him fiercely. Now Parineeti Chopra has come into the discussion by telling the story of her poverty.

In an interview to Mashable Middle East, Parineeti Chopra spoke about her childhood in Ambala. The actress told that she has seen the struggle of her parents and the birthday was celebrated by cutting Rasgulla in her house, as they could not buy cakes.

There was no money for birthday cake
Parineeti Chopra said, ‘I have seen the struggle of my parents, when they did not have money for my birthday cake. My father used to go to the market and bring only one piece rasgulla or rasmalai, not a kilo, just one piece. We used to cut the same rasmalai like a birthday cake. However, Parineeti Chopra also told that she used to go to Nana-Nani for summer vacation every year in Nairobi.

The actress further said, ‘My maternal grandparents lived in Kenya and they were very rich. So I used to go to Nairobi from Ambala for my summer holidays and lived a luxury life for two months every year. Earlier, Ranveer Singh had told the story of his poverty, after which he was fiercely mocked on social media.

Ranveer Singh had told in an interview to Condé Nast Traveller magazine that his family was very poor. His family could not be able to spend more than 1 time foreign tour. He had said, ‘When I was growing up, we did not have much money. So my parents used to save money for summer vacation abroad. I remember that we went to Indonesia, Singapore and Italy, but most times we used to go to America, because we had a lot of family and always used to go to Goa with our grandparents in December.

A Twitter user commented, ‘He had to go to America again and again, because he had many relatives there’. The other wrote, ‘He did not have enough contact to get the contract of Dharma Productions for his debut and hence he had to be content with the contract of Yash Raj Films’. At the same time, another user wrote, ‘O God, please make me as poor as Ranveer Singh or even more than that.’
