New Delhi: Vikrant Massey is famous today for his film ’12th Fail’, but he changed as a person when an incident in school shook him to the core. The actor told that he once punched the jaw of a boy who had epileptic seizures. Vikrant realized that he could seriously hurt someone. This incident inspired him to give up violence.
Vikrant Massey spoke about the incident in the ‘Prabhakar Ke Pravachan’ podcast and compared it to his role in ‘Haseen Dilruba’ and its sequel. He explained how his character Rishu tries to control his violent behavior.
The actor further said, ‘Let me tell you an experience from my life. I used to do karate in school. I became very aggressive and started feeling strong. I punched a boy on the jaw during recess, without knowing that he had epilepsy.’ Vikrant saw the boy foaming at the mouth and fainting. Then the boy’s elder brother beat up Vikrant. The actor was afraid that the boy might die.
When Vikrant Massey regretted his actions
Vikrant recalled, ‘I saw the boy foaming and losing consciousness. His elder brother came and started hitting me. All this happened in a matter of seconds. I did not feel the pain of his brother’s beating, because at that moment I was afraid that the boy might die. I left all this, stopped doing karate. I realised that I can hit someone. After the incident, I only got beaten up in fights, because I had stopped raising my hand.’

When Vikrant was asked if it was unfortunate that he stopped fighting, he said that the memory of that boy was so painful that he never hit anyone again. He said, ‘I don’t know. Thankfully, I never raised my hand on anyone again, because the memories of that boy foaming at the mouth were very intense. I got into a few fights because of friends, but I never raised my hand again. I fear that I might be provoked again. Vikrant Massey is seen in the Netflix series ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba’.
