Won National Award with first film but still faced rejection
Mithun Chakraborty entered the world of acting in the year 1976 with the film ‘Mrigaya’. With his brilliant acting in this film, he mesmerized the audience as well as the critics. Mithun Chakraborty received the ‘National Film Award for Best Actor’ for his excellent performance in ‘Mrigaya’. After winning the National Award for his debut film, the actor thought that now his luck would shine. But the opposite happened. Despite being a National Film Award winner, he had to face rejection many times in the industry.

Zeenat Aman came as an angel

Mithun Chakraborty had told that due to his dark complexion, no top actress was ready to work with him, in such a situation Zeenat Aman proved to be an angel for him.
‘Fate’ made the destiny
When other actresses refused to work with him because of his complexion, it was only Zeenat Aman who considered him ‘good looking’. Zeenat Aman changed Mithun’s fortunes by agreeing to work with him. After giving a superhit film with the actress, Mithun Chakraborty never looked back in his career. The actor had said, ‘Seeing Zeenat Aman, other heroines also started agreeing to work with me. ‘Taqdeer’ released and I became an A category hero.’

Why did you have to work in B grade films?
After becoming a superstar, there came a time in Mithun’s life when he had to work in B grade films. Years later, his son Mimoh revealed the reason why his father had taken this decision. He told that he did everything to support the family. He was the only breadwinner in the house and had to manage a lot of expenses. Let us tell you that in his career so far, he has done hundreds of films but at one time he had to work in B grade films like the classic Dance of Love.
