Winner of Bigg Boss, was once a bigger star than Salman Khan, then became anonymous

After becoming an overnight hit with his debut film, the actor got lost in the darkness of anonymity.

New DelhiMany people come to Mumbai with the dream of doing something in Bollywood, but there are only a few actors who are successful in achieving their position after toiling in the sun of struggle. Years ago, an actor entered Bollywood who got the overnight stardom that every actor dreams of, right from his debut film. But then his fate took such a turn that his stardom got ruined and he got lost somewhere in the darkness of anonymity. The famous big screen actor had participated in the small screen’s most popular reality show Bigg Boss and was also its winner, but still he was not successful in returning to the screen.

Rahul Roy made his Bollywood debut in the year 1990 with the musical-romantic film ‘Aashiqui’. His romantic style in the film was liked so much that he became a superstar overnight. Rahul Roy used to compete with actors like Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan with his stardom. He had such a huge craze among the people that the actor signed 47 films within 11 days, but his fate had something else in store.

Fees were increased overnight
In an interview given to Siddharth Kanan, Rahul Roy had revealed that he had received a fee of only Rs 25 thousand for his debut film ‘Aashiqui’. But its success was so tremendous that he demanded Rs 10 lakh for his second film. Rahul Roy made a record by signing 47 films within 11 days, but many of these films were shelved and the shooting of many did not start, due to which he had to bear the consequences in his career.

Did not get stardom from debut film again
When Rahul Roy’s career started wavering on the big screen, he, like many actors, took the help of the small screen. He was seen in the first season of Bigg Boss and due to his tremendous influence among the audience, Rahul Roy was successful in winning Bigg Boss 1. Even the victory of this reality show could not bring his career back on track.
