If you live in an extremely cold area, mixed wool thermals will be better. These give more warmth. The cotton material is comfortable for mild cold, but not too warm. Polyester and spandex blend thermal wear is lightweight and flexible, and they help wick moisture.

The size of thermal wear should be correct. It should neither be too tight nor too loose, because wearing a thermal that is too tight can affect blood circulation, while a loose thermal will not keep the body warm properly.

The layered structure of thermal wear is considered better. The inner layer locks in heat, and the outer layer prevents cold air from getting in. If there is no layered structure, you may suffer from cold.

Often people think that thermal wear should be thick, whereas excessively thick thermal wear can be uncomfortable to wear. Thermal with light weight and thin material is a better option, as it can be easily worn under other clothes.
