Redmi K80 Ultra and Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro are the upcoming smartphone devices of the phone company in which ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner can be seen. Tipster Smart Pikachu (via) has given this information through a post on Weibo. According to the post, the Redmi K80 Ultra and Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro will have an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. According to the tipster, the company is testing the sensors for both these smartphones. This means that compared to the older models – Redmi K70 and Xiaomi Civi 4, a big upgrade can be seen here.
Ultrasonic fingerprint scanners provide better security to the phone in many ways. These sensors create a 3D image of the user’s fingerprint based on the 2D mapping of the optical scanner. These are very fast in scanning and can read fingerprints even when the fingers are wet, oily or dirty. Gradually, now companies have started pulling this feature found in ultra premium smartphones towards the budget segment. That is, it should not be surprising that users get to see ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner in Civi 5 Pro and K80 Ultra as well.
Redmi K80 series has been making one record after another since its launch. Recently, it was revealed by the company that within 10 days of the launch of the series, more than 10 lakh units were sold. The company is calling it a very successful K series. At the same time, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset is likely to come in Civi 5 series. Now it remains to be seen when the company reveals more information about the launch of both these smartphones.
