Xiaomi to Launch First Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Chipset Powered Smartphone At Indian Mobile Congress

Qualcomm, one of the largest companies manufacturing semiconductors and software, introduced Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor for mobile platforms in India in July. Xiaomi will be the first company to launch a smartphone with this new processor. This could be an entry-level smartphone and could be launched at the India Mobile Congress next week.

This smart fone No information has been received about its specifications. A media report states that it may have a 6.7-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Gadgets 360 has received an invitation from the company for the launch of this smartphone. Xiaomi says that it aims to launch an entry-level 5G smartphone in the country for $99 (about Rs 8,300) with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor. This processor is to be built on 64-bit architecture and has Qualcomm Kryo CPU with eight cores.

Xiaomi has also filed a patent for a new smartphone design. The company is working on a clamshell style foldable smartphone which can be detached into two segments. It could be similar to Xiaomi’s Mix Flip that was introduced last month. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has been provided as processor in Mix Flip. It has 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. This smartphone has a 4.01 inch cover display and 6.86 inch inner screen. The 4,780 mAh battery of Mix Flip supports 67 W charging.

According to a media report, Xiaomi has filed an application with the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) for a detachable foldable smartphone. There are many diagrams in this application which show the design and functioning of this smartphone. It is similar to a normal flip style smartphone in the non-detached position. Its display is connected in the middle. There is no external hinge mechanism when folded. It has grooves for pogo pins on both sides and both the segments can be attached in this manner. However, the company has not confirmed this patent application.
