The makers of the comedy show The Great Indian Kapil Show streaming on Netflix have received a legal notice. There are allegations that Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore has been insulted in a segment of the show. There are also reports that Salman Khan’s production team, which was earlier a part of the production of the show, has also received a legal notice. Amidst the controversies, his team has given clarification saying that they have nothing to do with the show. The news of receiving a legal notice has also been denied in the statement.
The Chairman of BBMF (Bongo Bhashi Mahasabha Foundation), through his legal advisor Nripendra Roy, recently expressed his displeasure over a segment of the show in which derogatory terms were used for Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. He says that cultural aspects are being presented wrongly in the show. He has also accused the show of insulting the legacy of Rabindranath Tagore.
In this matter, on November 1, a legal notice was issued by the Board saying that the series is not only tarnishing the legacies of the Nobel Prize winners but is also hurting religious sentiments.
Salman Khan’s production team also got notice! The team gave clarification
Apart from The Great Indian Kapil Show, there are reports of Salman Khan’s production team also receiving a legal notice. Amidst the controversies, his team has issued a statement making it clear that he has nothing to do with the show. There are reports that Salman Khan’s production team has also received the notice, although these reports are false. Their production has no connection with the show airing on Netflix.

During this time, Krishna Abhishek had adopted the getup of Rabindranath Tagore. At the time of entry, he was seen imitating Rabindranath Tagore and singing his song ‘Pachala Chalo Re’ instead of ‘Ekla Chalo Re’.
