Google Maps became the cause of a major accident in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh when three people traveling in a car died (via) done. Media reports said that due to the flood, the front part of the bridge built on the river was washed away. But the person walking relying on Google Maps did not know that the bridge was broken. Therefore, the car running on the bridge at high speed fell straight into the river. All three people died on the spot.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot. The car was taken out with the help of JCB. The police have taken the bodies of the three in their custody and sent them for post-mortem and have started investigating the case. This accident is said to have happened due to GPS navigation. The bridge is incomplete and could not be located on Google Maps due to which the car driver got confused.
Most people use Google Maps to go from one place to another. But many times people lose their way or reach the wrong path. Even in everyday life, it is heard many times that Google Maps made someone lose their way and reached a wrong place. The reason behind the accident in Bareilly was similar. Car riders lost their lives because they blindly trusted GPS navigation. The lesson to be learned from here is that GPS navigation should also be used with caution. It can also cause an accident.
