It is said that land, land and land are the root causes of most of the troubles. This adage proved true in many cases, especially in the model Vivek Sahu murder case. On August 21, 2024, Vivek Sahu’s body was found in the fields, there were several injuries on the body, there were fingerprints on the neck and there was a bullet on the back. When the investigation into model Vivek Sahu murder case started, many shocking revelations came to light.
He had a fight with his girlfriend just a few days before his death. He often used to tell his brother-in-law that his life was in danger, who knew that this fear would prove true one day. But when the truth of the matter came to light, the reason was shocking.
Today, read the story related to the murder, conspiracy and many characters of model Vivek Sahu in 3 chapters of Ansuni Dastanen-
Born in Kankarkheda, near Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Vivek Sahu was the youngest in the family. He also had two elder sisters. Vivek was very young when his father passed away. He first studied from DMV School, Kankarkheda till class 12 and then graduated from CCSU.
During his college days, Vivek started getting inclined towards the world of modeling, for which he shifted to Gurugram 3 years ago.
Vivek’s sister Preeti was married to Tanuj Kumar, posted in the 6th Division PAC of Meerut. When Vivek shifted to Gurugram, his mother along with her daughter and son-in-law started living in B-Block of Defense Enclave near Kankarkheda Police Station. Vivek used to visit home often.
While living in Gurugram, Vivek used to be a part of small modeling projects. During this time, he met a girl, whom he started liking. Within a few months both of them got into a relationship.
The beginning of the relationship may have been beautiful, but within a few months, discord started between the two. Amidst the increasing disputes, Vivek came to Kankarkheda and started living with his family.
On August 19, just a day before his death, Vivek had tied Rakhi to his sister Preeti.
While he was away, his relationship with his girlfriend started improving again. Vivek’s girlfriend’s birthday on 4th August, for which he especially went from Kankarkheda to Gurugram. He was going to stay in Gurugram for a long time, but soon returned home. After coming back he told his brother-in-law Tanuj that his life was in danger. He had told that at his girlfriend’s birthday party in Gurugram, he had a huge fight with many people and then got into a fight, and they could kill him. This was the reason why he spent most of his time at home in fear.
Girlfriend had accused him of rape, gave Rs 15 lakh to suppress the case
Only a few days had passed after returning to the city when Vivek’s girlfriend made serious allegations of rape against him. Fearing the defamation from the case, Vivek gave Rs 15 lakh to his girlfriend and reached a compromise.
In fact, just a few months ago, Vivek had sold 40 bighas of his 60 bighas of land in Kusaidi village, for which he got Rs 3.5 crore. Out of these, he gave Rs 15 lakh to his girlfriend for settlement. After the case was withdrawn, Vivek again contacted his girlfriend and the two started talking.
20 August 2024
Vivek told his mother and sister Preeti that some of his friends are coming from Delhi with whom he is going to party. He asked for Rs 5,000 from his sister Preeti, but his brother-in-law flatly refused. There was an argument between the two and an angry Vivek left the house at 7.40 pm without taking any vehicle.
It was around 11 pm, but Vivek could not be contacted. The worried family members kept calling him, but he did not even pick up the phone. 2 calls rang, but the third time the call was made, the mobile was switched off.
The next morning, police received information that a dead body was found in a field adjacent to Dulhaida Road in Pallavapuram area. Before his death, Vivek was badly beaten, his body was soaked in blood and there were two bullet marks on his back. She was also strangled.
When the police reached the spot, there was neither a phone nor any document with the dead body, through which the identity of the deceased could be ascertained. Initially the police got the photographs of the dead body circulated in the nearby police stations.
When the photographs reached the police stations, Vivek’s brother-in-law Tarun Kumar, posted in the Sixth Corps PAC, caught sight of them. He immediately reached the mortuary and identified Vivek’s body. As soon as the identification was received, the police started investigating the murder. The post mortem report revealed the cause of death to be bullet injury.
In the Vivek Sahu murder case, the police recorded the statement of his family. His brother-in-law Tanuj Kumar played an important role in this matter. He gave many angles to the police for investigation. According to Tanuj’s statement, Vivek often told him that his life was in danger. The reason for this was a fight between him and his girlfriend.
Statements of the family members were recorded, in which three angles of investigation came to light-
First angle- Vivek had gone out to meet his friends, who had come from Delhi. Vivek had also made his last call to his friend only. In such a situation, the first suspicion was on Vivek’s friends.
Second angle- A few days before his death, Vivek had told his brother-in-law that his life was in danger. In such a situation, the second suspicion of the police was on Vivek’s girlfriend.
Third angle- Vivek had sold 40 bighas of his land a few months ago. He had crores of rupees, which could have been murdered with the intention of looting it.
First of all the police summoned Vivek Sahu’s girlfriend in the case. The girlfriend said in the statement that she has not been in contact with Vivek since December 2023. His name should not be dragged into this matter.
After the girlfriend case, the police called Vivek’s friends for questioning, but they did not turn up to record their statement in the first summons. In such a situation, suspicion began to deepen on him. However, after some time, friends said in the statement that they were supposed to meet Vivek that night, but Vivek did not reach them.
The police also examined the CCTV footage near the house in the case. In the CCTV footage, Vivek Sahu was seen leaving the house on foot at 7.40 pm. He was seen walking till Kailash Hospital, but after that he was not captured in any CCTV. Vivek’s mobile was switched off at 8:02 pm in Shobhapur, a few kilometers away from home.
Relative conspired to commit murder, kept misleading family and police
Even after investigating the three angles mentioned, the police could not reach the bottom of the matter. Ultimately the police looked into the angle of family differences.
When the call details of all the members present in the family were taken out, the situation was found suspicious. There was a discrepancy in the statement of Vivek’s brother-in-law Tanuj, who stood with the police every step of the way in the Vivek Sahu murder case. On the day Vivek went missing, Tanuj was not on duty for several hours. When their location was seen, it did not take much time for the police to connect the links.
Many revelations made in the murderer’s confession
When on suspicion, the police called brother-in-law Tanuj Kumar for questioning, initially he kept misleading the police, but when strict action was taken, he broke down.
Vivek’s brother-in-law Anuj Kumar in police custody.
He told the police that in the evening he had a fight with Vivek over giving him Rs 5,000. After this he went for duty in a personal car. Whereas Vivek had left the house on foot. At 7 pm he left for duty with his sixth battalion PAC. He called his wife and asked where Vivek was. The wife told him that he had gone on foot towards the highway. After this Tanuj reached the highway searching for them. When he found Vivek on the highway at around 8 o’clock, he coaxed him and made him sit in the car. He had already hatched a conspiracy to murder Vivek before meeting him.
There was liquor in his car. While moving towards Partapur, he made Vivek drink heavily. Within some time Vivek started losing consciousness. Tanuj took them to Dulhaida Road. First he got down from the car on the pretext of urinating after seeing a deserted place and then he forcefully made Vivek also get out of the car on the pretext of urinating. Vivek obeyed and started urinating in the field. Then Tanuj took out the 315 bore pistol he had brought with him earlier and shot him at his waist. When Vivek fell there, he again fired another bullet at his back.
When Vivek stopped breathing, he dragged the body towards the fields, dumped it and ran away. After going some distance, he threw the pistol and returned to duty in the duty car at 12.15 in the night. He called his wife, in which he got information that Vivek had not returned home. He returned home at around 12.25 pm and started pretending to find Vivek with his family.
Why was the conspiracy to murder Vivek hatched?
A few months ago, Vivek had sold 40 out of 60 bighas of land located in Kusaidi village, for which he received Rs 3.5 crore.
He had sold 40 bighas of his 60 bighas of land located in Kusaidi village, for which he got Rs 3.5 crore. Vivek was spending this amount arbitrarily, due to which the family had objection. Tanuj wanted to invest such a huge amount somewhere or buy a house, but he was continuously exhausting the money.
Vivek gradually gave Rs 15 lakh to his brother-in-law Tanuj. When Vivek ran out of money, he started demanding Rs 15 lakh back from Tanuj. Both of them had fights many times on this matter. When Vivek started running out of money, he was preparing to sell the remaining 20 bighas of land. Angered by this, Tanuj decided to kill Vivek. He had already arranged for the pistol and liquor before meeting Vivek.
